Hog-weed sap

This is a hog-weed with a small scar on the fading flower stalk. The sap appears to be so attractive that a 7 spot ladybird is prepared to put up with several wasps also attracted to it. They are not short of water as there is a small river and lake 10 yards away. I did not think ladybirds were interested in sap until i spotted this. The wasps carried on ignoring the ladybird after it moved off.
