Small moth, smaller than a common footman, light grey, wings spotted, snout prominent. Caught in light trap.

Where do you start
Thanks for that, I am aware the photo is not really up to much. I have looked on UK Moths and it looks right. The trouble with micros is, as a beginner, I just do not really know where to start, so this site is really useful.

There is a good book for UK pyralids by Barry Goater - it has life size photos of pinned specimens. For the other micro groups, the books can be expensive or difficult to obtain. Bee Moth?
Agree it looks like a pyralid moth, and I wonder if it is a female Bee Moth? It's rather worn, but the spots on the wings seem to match. Bee Moths are quite frequent in my garden at the moment - the name comes from their larvae, which feed on the nests of bumblebees and social wasps.
