There were many of these yellow rattle to be found in the Hilfield meadow. They are not as noticeable as the creeping buttercups and common birdsfoot trefoils because of their green stems and small paler yellow flowers. On looking closely they are nearly as abundant as the other two plants and probably do well there due to their ability to grow taller.
Hilfield Friary is set deep in the Dorset countryside and has beautiful unspoiled organic land surrounding it. It is of particular interest to wildlife organisations.
