Meadow grasshopper
As Bob says, brilliant photos for identification. The upper view shows the sides of the pronotum (kind of hood behind the head) are slightly 'hour-glass' shaped - two ends wider than middle. The other common green grasshopper, the field grasshopper (Chorthippus brunneus) has black wedge-shaped marks on the pronotum.
This is the common short winged morph, there is a long-winged morph which can be confused with the field grasshopper which always has long wings.

meadow grasshopper
This is one of the top 3 grasshoppers in terms of abundance. Probably in every grassy field and garden in the UK. These photos are a lesson in how to illustrate a species well, with the subject pictures from every angle. a good spot, well recorded.
