However there are rather few cases of the same common name being used for more than one group of organisms so this is quite a rare situation, I seem to recall it even happens the other way (even rarer) with scientific genus name being applied to different groups of organisms. Another situation is for one common name being applied to various different organisms within the same group e.g. bluebell applies to the common plant found in great sheets in woodland but can also apply to Harebell (Campanula rotundifolia) especially if you were brought up in USA. I seem to recall the system lists all the options so you can choose which one is most appropriate and you can always look them up separately on the web if you are not sure.
