Description: Almost 50 miles away from my earlier 'cuckoo' observation. This one in the dune heathland at Murlough, Co Down. The two smaller birds (top left) chased it away.

Description: Sorry about the quality of the pics. I thought I was trying to photograph a peregrine falcon which was keeping its distance from me, flying from tree to tree (at the extreme end of my camera's range) but on looking at the second photo, it's more likely to be a cuckoo.

Description: I couldn't get anywhere near the cuckoo (if it was indeed a cuckoo!), but I managed to get this shot having followed the call. The bird has a long tail and seems to correspond with other pictures of the species, however I would like to hear what others think.

Description: We have had two Cuckoo's flying around together all day. We first notice them about 10 am and it is now 6 pm and they are still flying. They seem to be chasing each other, tumbling down then continuing the chase.
I have never seen this behaviour before,in fact I do not think I have ever seen two Cuckoos together.
Are they a mating couple or maybe two fighting for territory???

Got several other bits with more cuckoo sound on but more distant as it kept moving around the woodland as I approached.

Description: No photo I'm afraid - I didn't actually "see" this welcomed (by us) visitor - but I heard the distinctive bisyllabic call of my first cuckoo of the season yesterday at Thursley Common. No, I didn't get a recording, either, but another binocular-toting gentleman heard it, too.

Description: Very distant photo - but call heard clearly. About 10 minutes later a second call from another direction was heard, and I saw the bird fly towards the tree in this picture (not able to get a shot but it had the typical hawk-like flight). Fairly confident there were also two different birds about a mile away. Given the habitat, they will probably parasitise Meadow Pippits nesting on the heath.

Description: Not a great picture, but we saw several cuckoos on the day, including one being chased by small bird, possibly a pipit. Heard the cuckoo's call all over Isle of Skye during two week stay.

Description: A number of cuckoos still active here, mostly hear them or see them being chased off by smaller birds.Today we saw one calling from the top of a hill and another flying straight towards it, and then both tumbling in the air, ending in one flying off at speed.
