Description: A carp and owing to the line a scales running along its back it's a Mirror Carp. This was easily a double figure fish, seen sunning itself in the rather murky waters of the Basingstoke Canal.

Description: Three dead fish in canal within about 50 meters of each other. Does anyone have any idea what might cause this?

Description: These fish are being moved to one of the main reservoirs, as their smallish pond is being drained to make way for an activity area. One of the wardens kindly lifted one from the tank so I could take a picture

The disused Oakham - Melton canal is now a line of discreet ponds, separated by infill. This section has a fountain added, which I suspect helps the oxygenation.

Description: So this is why fishermen keep breaking the fence to go fishing in this nature reserve pond.
The lack of a polarising filter on the camera really shows up in these.
My ignorance of fish identification is almost total.

Description: The pond in my garden is about 1000 square metres. We have lived there 4 years and each Spring we see 5 large carp as they appear at the surface when the water warms up. This year we have 2 dead ones. The picture shows the size - about 45 cms long and weighing 4 to 5 kilograms. But this is the position we found it in. Something has attacked it and pulled it out of the water, but only partially eaten it. Has anyone any ideas as to what animal might have attacked it. The pond is in a domestic garden on the outskirts of Worcester

This is a private pond belonging to my grandparents, with a healthy stock of fish. Therefore I would rather not disclose the exact location.
