Description: Flying swiftly catching insects - mid morning. Flying so quickly difficult to get any pics that are good. This is number 27 from the garden. I have had visits from both Tree Sparrow and Coal tits now (28/29) but no camera to hand at the time. Will the 30 species be broken this year.

Description: If you look closely, you can pick out a couple of chicks. And a ladybird living rather dangerously. Or perhaps not, as long as the youngsters know how horrible they taste...

Description: This is one of my pics of the pair of house martins that visit every year now but make their nest in an old starlings nest, as you can see they have plenty of room but Ive been told on numerous occasions that they will only nest in their own mud nests, not so as you can see. I live on the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire border.

Description: A party of 6 or so House-martins were hunting very low over a bracken-covered slope, on a very windy day. After completing each cicuit of the area, two of them would have an aerial tussle and then the circuits would continue.
Perhaps the explanation is that they were a family group, and the pair involved, comprised a youngster hassling a parent bird for food?

Description: House Martins? I was quite surprised to see at least 5 adults feeding the young in this nest. At one point, 2 adults were in the nest, one waiting on an air-brick and another 2 on the wing making regular flybys I guess to see if they could come in to the nest. There was a lot of communication between them all! Is this common behaviour?
