Description: Lousy included because it's the first one I've seen this year. If you look carefully, there's an insect just in front of the bird, about to come to a sticky end...
Habitat given as freshwater because the bird was above the lake.

Description: I think this bird has been left behind for some reason. Whilst I was preparing to take photos, a lady walked past it on this sign with her head no more than two feet from it. I and an acquaintance with two Jack Russell terriers then approached it to within about five feet and it didn't seem too concerned.

Description: I thought the swallows had all left as I haven't seen any for a week but there were lots feeding over the river today (which is in flood). Maybe these birds have come from farther north and stopped to feed up?

Description: Pair of Swallows feeding at least 3 chicks in nest in the porch of an out-building on Coastal Path. Whilst parents away, occasional glimpses of 3 little faces with apparent "smiles". As parents entered porch, all 3 beaks opened wide; parents popped food into chick's mouth without landing and then completed a "wing-over" to depart for more food.
