Description: Wingspan 40mm+. Sadly one antenna damaged. At lighted window Sat 22 Sep. Worn Black Arches? Or just possibly a Gypsy Moth?? Forewings certainly brown, not black/white, with conspicuous shaded cross-band. But Black Arches familiar here, and any appearing now would be late season specimens.

Description: Caterpillar seen on a section of a pebble beach with virtually no vegetation nearby on Corfu. Hairy tufts with red markings along the back. Any idea what this would eventually fly away as?

Description: This caterpiller was found on a hardy geranium. We are intrigued by the colour scheme, the red and blue 'buds' at the base of the hairs. They bear no similarity to the colour of the plant it was on and were creating no camouflage!

Description: I've been rearing a Gypsy Moth caterpillar (see http://www.ispot.org.uk/node/68084 for more details).
At a recent shedding of its skin it managed to pop of the old head case/skin in a single bit - not something I have seen in a lepidopteron before but I have heard of it.
Added here for interest.
Location given is where the original adult was found - not sure what the iSpot convention is for locations of reared species.
